Boys will be boys, but where is the tact?

I am in my early “dirty thirties”. I have been around long enough to know that men will be men and boys will be boys.  In my twenties I spent some time hangin’ in the Chi-town clubs (Crobar, Dome Room, Vision, Exit, Shelter, Excalibur etc. etc. ) and have been the target of some not so nice advances.  However, I blame alcohol for some of those advances!!!  I don’t believe alcohol has been involved here with what I will call “Dollgate”.  As a female fan I am somewhat upset with what has transpired (I think I will get over it though eventually).   How are some plastic dolls really going to help “the boys” hit them balls? I understand there are some jokesters on this team and that is quite all right. Life without laughter is boring!!!  But why couldn’t they find another way to help keep the energy up in the clubhouse with out using dolls and somewhat degrading women?  I believe most of “the boys” have beautiful wives and girlfriends and I am hoping that some of those women aren’t too happy with all this.  I really think some of the guys might need to talk to some sports psychologists or former elite players with great expertise to help them get over some of the “demons” they are facing.  Yeah, laugh if you must with what I just suggested, but talking to someone with expertise DOES WORK.  I know this as a former competitive athlete who had my own inner sports performance issues back in the day.

Let’s face it , “my boys” are the second team in the Second City.  This is how it has been for many, many years. Our fans are extremely loyal and patient and accept this fact.   In 2005, there were many Chi-towners who jumped on the “bandwagon” when the WS was won.  Those people eventually went back to cheering on the other team.  The Chicago White Sox organization doesn’t need this negative publicity right at this moment (especially with a 6 game slump hangin’ over their heads).   If I were in charge, I would make Ozzie somewhat apologize for what happened and make “the boys” more aware of what is acceptable and non-acceptable behavior. The Chicago White Sox organization does have heart.  They have spent money in the community surrounding U.S Celluar Field and have a pretty good rapport with their fans.  I hope that “tact” can be found and displayed for all to see—

That’s it for now and have a beautiful Tuesday-  Let’s shoot for a “tactful” win tonight!!!
