Here it is.  The time has come.  It is run , don’t walk to the nearest exit.  The crosstown showndown is upon us all. Goodness Gracious !!!  It should be a good one.  No, let me rephrase that.  It should be an exceptional one.  Emotions will be riding high and tempers will be flared.  This city is going to be CRAZY for the next three days as both teams are respectively in first place in their divisions. (Chicken Little – is the sky falling ???)  I am ready for this to transpire tomorrow. MORE THAN READY !!  I know the media is blowing this series up big time.  I know that some of the fans are letting their ugly sides show and ultimately want bragging rights.  But I don’t want to get into any of that – let’s just talk baseball, pure simple baseball–   Danks (2.90 ERA- 61 SO) vs. Lilly (4.75 ERA   83 SO ) should make for an interesting match up.  Danks has the lower ERA but hasn’t been able to go the long haul thusfar.  Lilly on the other hand clearly has more strikeouts and his last 3 starts have been good.  Our bullpen has been lights out with Linebrink, Dotel, and Thornton. These guys truly are getting the job done and the Cubs should fear them.   They have Marmol who is pretty darn good himself though.  The Cubs have a great offense that has been very consistent for the most part.  My boys on the other hand have been fairly inconsistent, but when everything clicks – WOAAHH NELLY – there is no stopping ( they keep going , and going and going ). Some of the guys who were slumping have come out of those slumps and are doing much better ( Cabrera+ Swisheroo).  Ramirez is showing positive signs both offensively and defensively. BA is a great center fielder.  Dye is HOT and A.J. continues to swing the bat well. Even without Paulie in the lineup, we have proven ourselves (thusfar) with the regulars and with the bench guys. As for location–  Wrigley Field will be a tough place to play in (even though it is a mere 8 miles or so from the Cell ).   The Cubs seem pretty unbeatable at home. I am hoping though that many Sox fans will be there to make it more lively and exciting for the boys and the Cubs will be a bit tired from their long ( and sad ) flight back from Tampa.  With that – it is time to get the balls rollin’   Go Sox and may everyone (both Sox and Cub fans ) enjoy the true beauty of the game and try not to get into too much trouble.
